September 3, 2016, 12:00pm - September 3, 2016, 10:00pm

The Wallowa Valley Music Alliance is excited to present its eighth annual fundraiser, JUNIPER JAM - The sweetest little music festival in Eastern Oregon! The big event takes place on Saturday, September 3, 2016 (that’s Labor Day Weekend) at the Wallowa County Fairgrounds in Enterprise, Oregon. This fun-filled day of music starts at 1:00 PM and continues non-stop on two stages, all day until about 10:00 PM. Festival-goers will enjoy many styles of music including folk, country, Americana, rock and blues, as well as great food and drink, plus children’s activities. Although the musical genres presented at JUNIPER JAM are varied, the common thread is original music – honoring the song and its writer. “We have a great bunch of bands playing at this year’s festival, plus the addition of the inaugural TR Ritchie Memorial Songwriting Contest and a morning songwriting workshop with instructor Tracy Spring from Bellingham, WA.,” says festival founder and director Janis Carper. JUNIPER JAM 2016 Performers: Lewi Longmire & the Left Coast Roasters Sum People Ashleigh Flynn & the Porch Climbers Will West & Groovy Wallpaper Misé Kory Quinn Laney Lou & the Bird Dogs Tracy Spring Tracy Spring will also teach a songwriting workshop on Saturday morning - see juniperjam.com for details and to register. Some kind words fromDom Flemons ...

Nailed a bullseye and then won my first Axe Throwing Competition! I'm so appreciative of the Maxville Heritage Interpretive Center and O.K. Theatre for having me perform at such a historic location. Special thank you to Darrell Brann and Gwen Trice for their tireless efforts in preserving the heritage of Wallowa, Oregon. Gwen's family roots are in the Black Lodging communities in the Pacific Northwest that sprung up in the early 20th Century! I can't wait to make it back here very soon! Next stop... Salt Lake City, Utah! Catch you all down The Oregon Trail!

All the way from Texas, don't miss the Purple Hulls! ...

The Purple Hulls

September 8, 2016, 7:00pm - September 8, 2016, 10:00pm

You could easily say these two musicians were born to make music together. Identical twins Katy Lou and Penny Lea Clark of The Purple Hulls were raised on a working family farm in the deep piney woods of East Texas, but that didn’t stop the Texans from finding their way to the hills of Tennessee, specifically, Music City, where they began touring with various country artists and writing songs for Nashville’s largest publishing company, Sony Tree. The Purple Hulls are no stranger to road life and are now blazing the trail as a dynamic sister duo, showcasing their unique sibling harmonies while ripping the strings off any instrument they can get their hands on. If you’re looking for authentic acoustic driven music delivered at its best, your search is over.
